WiFi 6 extender! Finally some speed out to the shed! But... no 6GHz (WiFi6e) and like most every other extender, it takes quite a while to setup, and that's before finding out that it doesn't support 160Hz spread on the 5GHz spectrum, probably because it doesn't seem to support DFS. Our main WiFi 5GHz is 120Hz for maximum throughput, and doesn't seem to support fallback to 80 inclusive, which means the vast majority of our devices would drop in speed.40Hz spread on the 2GHz spectrum works well enough, I guess. When our main AP is set on 5GHz down to 80Hz bandwidth so this can connect. When wired up to this Linksys extender, I can get 257Mb/s down and 156Mb/s up over WiFi uplink where a directly connected WiFi6e laptop will get 333Mb/s down and 190Mb/s up in the same location. The settings are pretty anemic if you're used to something like Gl.iNet's, OpenWrt, or ddwrt. But hey, at least it auto-updates so once you set it up you don't have to worry too much. Still concerned about Linksys' long-term firmware support though...

Didn’t work as advertise

Probably won’t have time to install it for a week or two. I’m going to use it to be certain I have coverage all around our pool, which won’t be necessary for another three months here in the gulag, where a snowstorm is moving in as I type. The three star rating is only based my knowledge of and experience with Linksys, and I assume it will only be greater.

Even when I place the extender at a distance recommended by the Linksys app, it does not maintain the signal. Performance slowly degrades and eventually the connection drops. This is unacceptable.

Did not work as well as expected. Ian’s I missed return date by a few days. I had to purchase a different extender!
