I love this salad spinner. It’s pretty big which is both a pro and a con. I like to blend different lettuces together for my salads during the week. I was able to make my blend, rinse, and store this in my fridge for the entire week and everything stayed fresh and ready for me to pull out of the fridge whenever I needed. It took up a good amount of room in my fridge however the 3 or 4 different plastic lettuce container prior to using this took up way more. It’s also large enough and pretty enough to serve out of. First of all, this is a great product to provide clean fresh greens for salad. Simply wash your greens and spin them and they are quickly fresh and dry, ready for any dressing you choose. In addition to spinning greens, you can use the product for a colander and it's great to wash delicate fruit as well. The product is sturdy and spins easily. I was so excited to get a chance to review the OXO Salad Spinner! I've been wanting one for quite a while, and I'm so glad I now have it! It is super easy to use. I was able to use only finger to push on the plunger (although I would normally use more than that!) I love the sudden stop feature, as well as the locking mechanism. I like that I can fill the bowl with water and swish my greens with the spinner, empty the bowl, and then use the spinner to dry the greens. The bowl is pretty enough to use for my finished salad. I received this salad spinner as a product insider. I chose this as my free perk because I had been wanting to update my original I’ve had for five years. And I eat a lot of salads, an extra spinner would be great! What I absolutely love about it is: the bowl and strainer are sturdier than the older OXO model I have. My dislikes are: to me it seems smaller than the previous one. Which makes a three pack of romaine lettuce leaves not fit well. The lid doesn’t close all the way due to this. Other than that it is made better than the previous model I have, and way better than other brands. I love it and recommend this salad spinner. It’s worth the money. This salad spinner actually gets out a lot of the water! I spun very large pieces of lettuce and it still got out a lot of the water. I love how the plastic bowl doubles as a way to rinse your veggies. Also, I love the little stopper. It stops the bowl when you don't want it to spin anymore. The size of the salad spinner is a very good size. You can wash and spin enough salad for 2 people for dinner pretty comfortably. I’m not a fan of tons of different tools for every little kitchen job but I could not live without this salad spinner. I have owned an OXO salad spinner for decades and have used it for many different foods. Spin lettuce dry in seconds! Wash your veggies and spin dry before you chop them. Same for berries-yes even delicate raspberries won’t crush when using this spinner. I love the new design. I have rheumatoid arthritis and even when my hands are hurting I can still use the spinner because of the large flat button you use to make it spin. And the bowl and strainer are a much thicker material than my old one. Very sturdy. Don’t hesitate to get this most valuable addition to your kitchen. I frequently purchase pre-made salads due to my busy schedule. Even though they say they are "ready to eat", I still rinse them. With my 'old' salad spinner, the small pieces slip through the holes in the colander. The OXO Salad Spinner took care of that problem by creating a basket that has smaller holes in it so I don't loose any of the bits in the outer bowl. The best part of this spinner is the spinner handle locks down flat for storage, unlike my previous spinner where the spinner handle didn't allow for stacking.
