I was pretty excited about having my lettuce & spinach instantly dry, but I think my expectations were too high. The greens are still a bit wet after spinning them--too wet to use on sandwhiches unless you dry them further (so that they don't get the bread all soggy). It takes up quite a bit of room in the cupboard, and often I end up not even using it because its just one more dish (with three parts) to clean. If I had it to do over I wouldn't purchase this item--I kinda feel like its a waste of plastic.

It is well made, but you can pump it till your arm falls off ,and the salad will still be wet. WILL RETURN IT.

This was recommended by The Week. I thought it would be better than spinning greens in a pillowcase. Not! It left a lot of water in the greens. I'm back to using my pillowcase!

On my way to the store to return it. Dropped my 15+ year old, hand crank spinner (bowl cracked as a result), so decided to replace with this OXO model. Greens don't get as dry as they did with my old one.

Salad spinner spins but result is still soggy greens. Why bother?

Maybe I was the problem but I didn’t really think this did an efficient job keeping my lettuce fresh. Because there’s no airtight seal, my lettuce browned within about 48 hours. The lid simply sits on top. I would return it if I could and wouldn’t recommend other than a big bowl for washing and holding lettuce. Didn’t maintain freshness in any way and I’m looking for a new one.
