PROS:The Shark has more suction power than my previous stick vac. It moves well, has good balance, is lightweight, and is very easy to maneuver. The dust bin is easy to empty. We both have long hair, so I like that this vacuum is designed so that much of the hair bypasses the brush roller and goes straight into the dust bin. When hair does get caught in the brush roller it is very easy to snip it with scissors and pull it out. I like that the vacuum is white since it has to be visible to be plugged into an outlet. I live in a small place, and I like that the vacuum is not a standout focal point in the room.CON:That charging light. OMG. It boggles my mind how the designers could overlook such an annoying feature. It is huge and bright and blue and flashes *all the time* while on the charger. Since you can't stick it in a closet because there are not electrical outlets in there, you have to keep it in a room of your house and have this big K-Mart blue light special going 24/7. It lights up the whole room. I solved the problem (sort of) by applying several layers of white duct tape to match the vac (cuz I'm detailed like that), but really, Shark, for the reputation you have for building great vacuums you really need to rethink this light situation. My last vac only lit up while it was charging, and even then it was a tiny light that was barely noticeable. Speaking of lights, it would be nice if Shark would put a headlight on the next model that would function while the vacuum is operating so you can see what you're vacuuming up. My last stick had that, and I loved it.

I like the ease in which I can sweep my hardwood floors; no plugs or cords to miss with. This is my second Shark SV1106 Navigator Freestyle Upright Bagless Cordless Stick Vacuum; I liked it so much that I purchased a second one. I would highly recommend this Shark Vacuum.

I have a vacuum exactly like this, but felt it wasn't picking up as well as it could be after maybe three years. The plus is definitely that it stands up on its own, and doesn't need to be hung on the wall to be charged. It's worked well in my apartment, but I noticed it wasn't picking up some of the hairs and things that needed to get picked up. So I bought another one at the same time, a stick vacuum. I decided I liked the stick better, and I didn't even open this one. I think its a bit wide for stairs. My other one like this still works, and I may use it in some lighter areas...

I personally have always liked Shark but they are pricy. I was moving recently and I left a vacuum with me thinking it would fit in my vehicle for the trip upon arrival to use before the movers came - LAAWWWLLLSo the new owners of my old home received a welcome gift of a vacuum ha - so what did I do? Amazon obviously. And I "splurged" on this Shark vac - of which I did not realize it was compact/no attachments. I digress.I am quite pleased with it though, and it looks good, dare I say it's a sexy vac haha but it's a floor charge, cordless. I have vinyl flooring on my new first level, so this is great so far with dog fur, general grit/misc dust dirt and what have you.I have used it on the carpet upstairs waiting for my other vacuum to arrive on the moving truck and it did OK - but definitely a downstairs vac for the flooring is your best bet here with this particular one.

Over the past several years, I have been using the Hoover Lynx as my quick pick-up vacuum, which is much more expensive than this Shark. I found that the Lynx usually dies within 2-3 years. Which I'm learning is typical for this type of vacuum. Either the battery pack goes or it breaks the connection at the swivel head. I just cannot live without a quick pick-up vacuum. It's great for in front of the door, the kitchen area and an overall high traffic clean up. I was tired, however, of spending that much money on the Lynx, so I thought I'd give this one a try. I've used it for two months now and love it. It has just as much, if not more, suction. It's easy to clean and I really like the charging stand. You just pop the whole thing right down onto it, which I like better than having to remove the battery and plug it into a charger. The only negative thing I will say (which isn't a deal breaker), is that the power switch is on the swivel head, which is also where you have to put your foot to push the head down. Even though there's a little foot photo in front of the power button, I still end up hitting it about half the time. Time will tell if this one lasts the 2-3 years I expect. I've seen other negative reviews about the charge not lasting long enough to clean the whole house. This is not intended as a whole home vacuum. I use it at least once a day to go through our regular high traffic areas, in front of the door, around the couch and chairs, down the hall, quick stop in the 2 bathrooms to hit floor in front of the vanity for hair pick up, in front of the back door and around the kitchen counters and under the table. With that, it holds a good charge for at least a week.

Can't go wrong with Shark brand. They never disappoint. This is my backup vac and great for quick pick up's. Has very good suction. It's easy to empty the large dirt cup. Love that it's bagless too. I had bought one for my Mom last year and liked it so much that I got one too. No complaints. I believe they used to call these "electric brooms" back in the day. Keep in mind, this does not come with attachments and is just for floors. Works excellent and I recommend.

I replaced my other vacuum cleaner as the suction was terrible for pet hair. This one is much better. There are two things I wish were different - one, that it came with attachments for hard to reach places and two, that it would hold the charge a bit longer. Then there is the good news/bad news: the vacuum is very light weight but almost too much so. It is hard to get it to 'lock' in place so I can't easily keep it flat on the floor. It is nice that it is cordless. Debi N.

I like the fact like my last two vacuums it’s light weight and moves easy. What I don’t like it’s the fact that it doesn’t have batteries that go into the unit. It charges on a charging bar that needs to be plugged in to the wall. Since I don’t have a plug in my closet, I have to keep it out in my bedroom and on the charge bar. This wouldn’t be such a problem but I only have one bedroom and the charging bar flashes all night and keeps me awake. For this alone I would have returned it but through away the box before realizing it would flash all night long!

I am on the hunt for a quick cleanup of dust and hairballs on our tile floors (about 1800 sq ft of tile alone) - mostly around theedges by the baseboards where it ends up. I didn't want to have to get our Oreck out every other day- I tend to put it off and don't want to do that. This is the FIRST cordless vac I purchased and I thought I would just buy a handheld for other things like lampshades etc.PROS: One touch of a button and ALL of the lint and hair falls right into the garbage! No paper filter to touch or suck out with another vacuum!!!! Love that feature!!!CONS: when going under the couch or something like that you bend over parallel to the floor and the unit lifts off the floor! So the suction is no longer there where it needs to be but a few inches in the air :0(Bissel Bolt Pet (pink one) 2nd vacuum I bought is good because of the lift off handvac AND the handle bends with a click of the button to go under your couch, etc and the head does not lift off! BUT the con is that you have to touch the junk inside to get it all out, ew. It sticks to the paper filter inside and it won't shake out for nothing. You can't just push a button and it falls into the trash can like this Shark does. This has a high low and brush roller on and off and has excellent suction...AND the handle bends by the touch of a button to go under items with ease. It also rotates right and left (hard to explain) so that you can go under anything!Hoover Linx, 3rd one I bought: I was expecting this one to feel less chintzy and sadly it felt cheap and sounded cheap on the tile floor...and I paid nearly $150 for it. Sure, the neat metal dial is cool and not cheap and the power indicator is ok but I really do prefer a base that it sits in to charge and not an extra stand alone gadget that i have to plug in after removing the lithiom ion battery. Mostly because I want to grab and go, I want to keep it in my laundry room charged and ready to go when I see some dust or hairballs (from our four chihuahuas) rolling around by the baseboard. This $80 Shark did just the same job but easier to get rid of the disgusting dust and hair out of the bin.So, now that i have tested all three vacs I went ahead and bought the higher level Bissell Bolt because this morning I refreshed my cart and was able to get it for $149 andit hasn't been under $199 for months. I will have to pull off the dust and hair from the filter but I think it is worth it in the long run since it has both of best worlds, a floor vac and removable hand vac in one. Maybe I can use it without the paper filter inside, my husb suggested that. We shall see. I will do a review on that one too after I test it out..

Overall satisfied. On carpet setting the vacuum is difficult to push. A little heavier to lift than desired. Length of change adequate for required tasks.
