I bought this hat because I liked the idea of keeping my hair off my neck. I used it for a 3-day trip to the beach and it worked out really well. I wore it in the water, as well as walking along the beach and walking into town for meals - and it held up well to all that use. I tried pulling a ponytail through it as well as just pulling my hair through the hole loose. This hat is superior to other wide brim hats because of the ability to keep you cooler and drier by keeping your hair off your shoulders. It fits perfectly, not too tight and not too loose. I am about to order a second one in another color.

This is just what I needed, a sun hat with a ponytail hole that is not a baseball cap. I usually wear a baseball cap because I like to wear my hair in a ponytail. Sometimes I need more shade, but I don't like hats that don't work with ponytails because you either have to stuff them under or wear your hair down and that is not comfortable or cool on hot days. I am really looking forward to having this hat at the beach. I love that it has a neck tie to hold it on and snaps to fold up the brim if I choose. I also think it's really cute. I'm thinking of buying a couple more for my sisters. I also like the wide selection of colors and the breathable light weight material. It will be great for hiking too.
