This is my first wide-brimmed hat, so I wasn't sure how I'd like it. But, seeing as how I'm outdoors much more often now, I knew I needed extra protection from too much sun exposure. Plus, as I'm into nature photography...and have to wear eyeglasses...I needed a hat with a wide enough brim to shade my eyes so that I don't have to wear my Rx sunglasses which causes distortion when I look through the viewfinder on my camera. This hat does just that! The hat is extremely comfortable to wear. It "breathes" to keep you from sweating at the hair line too much. Plus, the ponytail hole will be a huge help once the hot days really hit. That is a GREAT design!

I bought one of these for myself and one for my granddaughter for our trip to the Florida panhandle beaches. They were perfect! We both love them, especially the fact that our ponytails could come out of the back. They also feature: 1) a mesh ventilation fabric to help keep your head cool, 2) snaps on the sides to snap up one or both sides of the brim, looking somewhat like a cowboy hat (both sides snapped up) or a safari hunters hat, where only one side is snapped up, 3) the brim keeps your ears & neck covered, 4) the chin strap keeps the hat on snugly during wind &/or rain, 5) The hat fits nicely because it has Velcro adjustment straps, 6) when the hat gets wet, it helps keep your head cool & dries quickly, 7) Rolls or folds nicely when packing for travel, 8) they are well made, 9) Launder easily & finally, 10) have several colors to choose from! You really can't go wrong!

This is such a fantastic hat for outdoor folks. I could kick myself for not purchasing this sooner. I have some sun damage over time on the outer sides of my face (yes, I wear sunscreen but don’t always remember to reapply) that wasn’t protected as much while wearing baseball caps. This beauty helps not only protect all of my face from sun exposure but my neck and shoulders. I love it includes the thought of putting your hair up and an opening for a bun/pony tail as it makes wearing so much more comfortable especially in the heat. The adjustable drawstring has kept my hat on while jogging and high winds. Don’t hesitate or wait for a sale (if you can that is), nab you one!

I purchased this for mowing the lawn since sunblock on my face really aggravates me. I've always had a slightly bigger head, but at max looseness it is snug enough to counter wind when pulled down but is still comfortable. It also sits comfortably slightly higher so it's loose. The lanyard I leave threaded through the hole in the back under the elastic as I've never used it, but I leave it in case I ever do. The brim is definitely firm enough that it doesn't flop all over the place, just the perfect amount of flex. The hat vents well, and the opening is centered just right for a ponytail right on the back of the head. The opening is decently large, and I've never had an issue fitting my hair through even when folded over instead of a tail. I have never sent it through the wash, but every time I mow I bring it in with me and rinse the elastic band on the inside very well, and the hat appears to be holding up well and doesn't smell bad. It appears to be made with quality materials for the price, and nothing has come off or loose since I started using it awhile back.

I got this trip for a summer vacation. I would say I have an average head (hats almost always fit, I use the medium size helmets when skating/skiing etc) and this hat is just slightly too small... It's also worth noting that my hair is very fine with no volume whatsoever, so large heads or thick hair will probably have a tough time. There's no stretch to the material, but I hope that by wearing it I can stretch the band a bit. The color is as pictured and the brim is nice and wide, which I appreciate because I'm pale and burn easily. The foldable feature is nice and the hat seems sturdy and well made (no loose threads or anything like that). If you have a larger than average head I'd definitely skip this, but for women with smaller heads (or average heads who are willing to risk it!) I'd recommend this item.

Let me start off by saying I am not a hat person. But I go to the lake several times a week to swim and after getting an unexpected sunburn on my face, despite wearing sunscreen, decided it was time to start wearing a hat. I was worried the hat would be hot (I'm in Texas!) or uncomfortable since I'm not use to wearing one. To my surprise, it was NOT hot at all (because of the meshed sides) and it was extremely comfortable. After about 15 minutes, I didn't even realize I had it on. Except for the fact that I think it kept me cooler and I know I was doing a good thing from not getting my face in the sun. I felt completely protected. I've also hand washed it and hung it up to dry and it turned out perfectly. There are also 2 snaps on the side of the hat so you can put the sides up and it makes a different hat! I was a little concerned from reviews that said the hat runs small. Well, I have a big head and it fits just fine! There is a strap in the back that makes it adjustable also. This is just the perfect hat! And bonus, it looks so cute on!

PERFECT HAT Holy crap this is by far the most perfect low maintenance durable sun hat for women. I did not have high hopes but when i got it and when i started wearing it, everything i wanted in a sun hat. Great for yard work, fishing, gardening, hiking, walking. easy to care for and is holding up very well. Love that it accommodates my long hair that i like to wear up in summer in NV, GO FIGURE. I'm 5'00'' and my hair is past the bra line but not quite waist length.

I absolutely love this sun hat. I use it for gardening mostly but It’s very cute and goes with a lot of summer clothes items I have too! I use hair sticks to tie up a lot of lengthy hair and I am able to pull my hair through the pony tail hole and wrap my hair into a bun and stick the bun and it holds all day until I pull it all down! Great but. Bought two for the kids too and they love theirs too. One doesn’t like her hair up in a pony tail but she’ll let me pull it through the hole with this hat and the other (younger) says it should have options for pig tails. The girls suggestion to make this happen maybe offer a hat for kids with Velcro or button flaps that cover the pony/pig tail holes so they can pick!! I love this idea and hope you use it because they would think that was super cool! We’d be willing to test it out for the manufacturer!

Love this hat! I have a big head (literally, not figuratively) and was afraid it wouldn’t fit well, but it’s perfect: not loose and not too snug. I got the watermelon red even though I was concerned the color might end up some funky Barbie-pink that wouldn’t work, but it’s exactly the color shown on the page. Nice quality hat. Love the “pony tail” slot at the back. Would buy again.

At this point my review is based on appearance only, but because reviews are invaluable to me, I’ve vowed to reciprocate more. I’ll amend or add after I put it to use on the cruise we’re going on in 4 days. I own 4 hats, but I always default to my visors because straw hats don’t stay put and they get hot. This hat covers my face, neck and chest 360*. It’s lightweight, foldable for a suitcase, wide brimmed and still “girlie” (MOST IMPORTANT!) I especially like the mesh where it’s most needed- the scalp where hair gets hot and sweaty under regular hats, yet like the brim, the top is full coverage fabric so your scalp shouldn’t fry. Upon inspection, this unique and nice sized hat seems to meet all the criteria I was looking for. It’s like a guy’s hiking/fishing hat, only MUCH cuter and wider. Does it function as I hoped? I’m about to find out, so I’ll confirm or amend this review after the cruise!
