[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips 8000 series arrived last week and I was blown away by how sleek, dynamic and aesthetically pleasing it looked. One has an image in their mind of their father's old electric razor from the 70s or 80s, and this couldn't be further from what I remembered. It's a quality piece of kit, designed with the utmost precision. It's solid and easy to hold/use and it's difficult to understand how the silky soft blades can get such a close shave. I've used it both wet and dry and on both occasions I was left feeling smooth and without any burn or irritation. I myself have some facial hair, but found it difficult in the past to find a razor that I can use on the areas of exposed skin and this razor did the job perfectly. I have recommended the razor to all my friends as I genuinely feel it's a huge benefit to any modern man with a busy lifestyle who still wants to make an effort with their appearance. Excellent work, Philips, you continue to exceed the expectations of your customers. I am and will always be a brand faithful Philips man.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this shaver for about a month now, and I'm very impressed by its overall shaving performance, both wet and dry. The most impressive thing I found was the shaver heads which follow the contours of my face effortlessly while giving a very close shave. The shaver is easy to hold in my hand and move around with the heads keeping in contact with my skin. The power button is easy to locate and operate, and I found the shaver noise minimal. On a longer beard, there was no snagging or pulling of hair, which I've found to be an issue with other shavers I've used in the past. Using the GroomTribe app to track your shaving style and time is really simple and paired effortlessly via Bluetooth and my Android phone. It's useful to get the optimal shaving technique to cut down on going over the same area and therefore minimize irritation, but I found it tricky to concentrate on the shave while following the shave guidance. The battery life was excellent. I still haven't needed to do a full charge after its initial one. There's a quick charge feature which gives you enough juice for a shave in 5 minutes, which is great for me as I often forget to charge my shaver and end up with half the job done while waiting for the shaver to charge. I like that this shaver uses a USB compatible charging cable too, which is convenient. Cleaning the shaver after use is simple too. Press a button to flip open the shaver heads and give them a rinse under the tap. The case that it comes with seems solid too. I think it will protect the shaver from knocks and bumps in a suitcase or travel bag nicely when I go on holiday. The one gripe I had with this shaver is the sideburn trimmer. I found it didn't do the best job to trim all the hairs, but maybe it was just me and I'll get the hang of it. Overall, I think Philips has done an excellent job with this shaver, and the technology built into it is really useful and not just a gadget or a gimmick.

The two main points are that it gives a very close shave with minimal effort and the battery life is surprising long. I have been using it everyday for nearly a month now on a single charge and no sign of it running out of battery. In fact there are two charge bars out of three remaining. The shaver comes with a small brush and pouch, both I find essential/useful for cleaning and easy storage. There has been absolutely no problems with using the shaver, it holds nicely with premium feel, it makes very little noise and I can always finish a daily shave within 3 minutes. I have also used it in conjunction with the Philips Daily Care phone app and the guided shave there but I don't find that helping because I know i'm shaving and most times I receive a low correct motion percentage so it makes me wonder if I am shaving correctly. Based on my experience, it's the best shaver I have used to date and I'm very happy with it overall.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shaver gives a really close and smooth shave, I have tried it both wet and dry and both give a close and smooth shave without tugging the skin. My skin can be sensitive and this didn’t cause me any problems, the smooth gliding action meant I had no irritation or rash. It has 360-degree flexing heads that move in different directions, allowing you to follow the contours of your face and neck, this feature very much helped with producing a clean and smooth shave. I particularly like the pop out trimmer, which is useful for the edges. Once fully charged, the shaver performs very well and the battery life is good. The accompanying app is designed to enhance your shaving experience, giving you guidance and tips on how to achieve the best shave possible. I found it to be very helpful in the beginning while I was getting used to using the shaver. The shaver is comfortable to hold and the build quality is excellent. It comes with a travel case, which I have found useful for keeping everything together in the bathroom. I do think it’s expensive but having said that, it’s probably the best shaver I’ve used, so in my opinion, it’s worth the investment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Simply put, this Philips 8000 series is the best shaver I have ever used, and I've used a lot. A sleek design, with a comfortable grip and super shaving head. It's easy to use with an easy to follow display, with built in sensors to tell you if you're shaving effectively. Its got a super long battery life, I got 7 shaves without having to recharge. Shaving dry was super, but wet shaving was absolutely exceptional. I found using shaving foam gave me a fantastically smooth and safe shave. The closest shave ever with no risks of nicks or cuts. Paired with a good mens face cream to use after and my face felt invigorated, smooth and fresh. Cleaning was so simple, just rinse the shaver under the tap, then place it in the cleaning pod provided and let it clean itself, brilliant. It has a great built in beard trimmer, which was pretty dang useful, a great addition. The shaver also comes with a 7 year motor and battery guarantee, amazing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used electric shavers alongside wet razors all my life, but I not used a wet razor since receiving the Series 8000 3 weeks ago. This razor gives me the closest and smoothest shave I have ever experienced. There is no hint of skin irritation. The unique way the three heads move independently and together is magic. I am not keen on the wet shave, however.

The light weight helps with the manoeuvring around the face. The shaver provides a close daily shave which is great. I have sensitive skin, this shaver is powerful but also gentle to the face. The wet and dry gives you the option to have a wet or dry shave. The new features such as the app helps to provide information that will help to maintain the shaver and provide a better overall shave. The battery life is much better than other models that i have used. You can now power the shaver using the USB cable rather than the old style charger cables. The travel case is great when travelling as it will help protect the shaver. Overall i would recommend this shaver.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Philips Series 8000 for a about a month now and it has been a massive upgrade over my previous shaver. I've found that it cuts the hair nice and low and I've not had any irritation whatsoever. The battery life has been excellent and have used multiple days in a row without the need to re-charge and find the fact that the charge cable is a USB cable much handier than either a 2pin or 3pin plug. The shaver has been very easy to clean due to it being so far even without the cleaning pod. I took the photos mid-shave to show the before and after of using the shaver - one is a days worth of growth and the other a few days of growth.

I found the App particularly useful as it gives helpful hints and tips on what you are doing right and how to improve things that are not quite correct. It also tells you how many shaves you have left on the charge. It is charged via a USB port which I will find particularly useful due to frequent travelling.

Not too heavy in your hand and has a nice feel when you are using it. Doesn’t feel too bulky. I started using this with about 5 days stubble. It went through that with ease. Left me very clean shaven and I no longer had a need for a manual razor to tidy up the edges like I have done before. Has a cool attachment to trim sideburns and moustache although I haven’t used that yet. The shaver comes with a mount to stand and can charge using it too. Overall I’m really pleased and look forward to the task instead of it being a mundane chore.
