Originally it worked great with Alexa, but then Alexa stopped talking. So, I don't know what happened.

Every thing works perfect, but....

Purchased the Ring Doorbell 3 after years of wanting one. Reading the reviews, I knew that the 3 was the way to go. And it works great! Everything from the wide angle lens, to the 1080p, motion detection, you name it! Unfortunately from the description, I was under the impression that the Ring 3 was capable of having constant power through hard wiring, but found out through the costumer support community that the only Ring Doorbell that is hardwired is the “PRO” and a not as costly “WIRED” version and the “ELITE”. This isn’t really an issue, due to Amazons amazing 30 day return policy.. I would just like for Ring to update their description and specify exactly which Ring Doorbells are able to get constant power through hard wiring. Other than that, 5 stars all around. Great quality

Love this version of ring doorbell..battery life is longer … however, I brought the solar charger in hopes of not having to change battery often or ever. Sad to report my ring worked approximately 3 weeks before needing to be charged (battery removed and charged then returned…). I thought the solar charger was to recharge the battery without the need to remove it from original compartment… that’s nit the case with mine. I plan on returning the solar charger and order a new one to see if it’s the same … it’s pretty annoying to have to keep trading out battery and charging them with wall outlet ….haven’t tried tech support yet…

Loving my Ring device

This is the second time I purchased this product. A few months back I installed it and tried to get it to work with my Comcast internet service and WiFi without success. After MANY hours on the phone with Comcast, Ring and Alexa/Amazon I gave up and sent the whole thing back. The instructions for setting up this Ring system need to be carefully reviewed and updated. It was a nightmare. Anyway after ditching my Comcast WiFi, I subscribed to the new T-Mobile internet system. I then gave Ring another chance and despite the confusing install instructions it worked the first time and now I'm really glad I have it. Getting all these disparate smart home wireless systems to coexist is a challenge and not for the faint of heart, but the rewards of having everything work are significant. I'm glad I persisted.

No serious complaints

Motion detection seems excessively delayed as the movement is often out of sight when I get the notice. Nighttime view is in black and white, but very clear day and night. Settings are moderately sensitive so battery change is needed twice monthly in cool weather, once a month during summer.

It works and so does Ring support

I purchased three Ring 3 video doorbells, one for each entrance to our home. Two of them are hardwired to a 24 V doorvell circuit and the third operates on battery power. The installation was easy but I had to buy a separate pack of wedge kits because of my vinyl siding pitch. The setup took some getting used to but all three worked for about one week. That is when one of the doorbell powered units would not connect with my phone even though it was closer to my wifi router than the other two. A call to Ring Support let me talk to Fatima and she walked me through some checks, and got the device reconnected. I experienced the same thing on two more occasions but was able to get it working on my own. If it keeps happening I will push for a replacement but I am thoroughly satisfied with the Ring product and their customer support.

signal range is poor.

make sure you have an extender or else this will not pickup your router signal.

Give it a chance

There seem to be a lot of mixed reviews about the Ring system, but we gave it a shot anyway. Delivery was quick, installation was relatively easy, and picture/video quality is very clear. Where we ran into problems was that the battery was draining too quickly. We live right by the road and the camer picked up every single car as "motion at the front door." After a couple days, we ended up installing the wedge mount behind the doorbell so that the camera was aimed more towards our walkway than directly at the road. We also adjusted some sensitivity settings and within the next couple of days, the doorbell got its act together and stopped picking up on passing cars, and our battery stopped draining so quickly. We also bought a replacement battery, which is convenient so you can just switch in the new battery while the other battery charges. If you are having issues, I'd suggest talking to customer service. This product works great when all of the settings are where they're supposed to be.
