This is one of the best decisions I made in buying this. I was looking to add something a bit more homey and interesting to my living room and this did that. Pictures do not do it justice as the flames are much more visible in person. I turn this on all the time, even without heat. The heater actually does do some good too, with my medium sized open living room, I get about 1-2 degrees warmer and the fan isn't too loud. It comes with crystal plastic rocks, but with care you could put anything in there to make it interesting. So drawbacks, this is definitely an electric fake fire, so the flames are repetitive. Installation is a little nerve wracking since the front glass just looks so droppable. And the combination of steps is just not as easy as it could be.

This fireplace adds pretty realistic flames and awesome heat out put to any room. Our space is 500 square feet and it takes the chill off and has it toasty in 30-45mins. With lots of color choices for the flames and bed rocks and a dimmer and speed control for the flames the effects are almost limitless. The only negatives are that even on the dimmest setting it is somewhat bright if your using it in a space that you sleep and the heat output could use a thermostat to help keep it at a steady temperature. Very happy with this purchase

Pair this fireplace with a wall panel from the Home Depot and you'll have a quick and simple project! Honestly we were able to get this done in a day (just wall mounting the fireplace) and we couldn't be happier! Now we have an absolutely stunning accent wall right when you enter our home.

Love this fireplace!.....only issue I had was during the installation, it says to mount it with screw holes in the back of the unit, so if I did that, the screws would come through the wall into the next room, so I went to Lowes and bought 4 construction 90 degree brackets for decks and used self drillers and screwed them to the sides of the unit in all 4 corners then I could screw them to the face of the framed opening for the unit, worked fine and does the job well......

This unit took the temp from 65 to 70 in about an hour. You could feel the heat right away.BUT this is the same output that you get from a hair dryer so don't expect miracles. It looks great and the heat is a bonus, so don't be afraid to get one, just understand what you're getting so you won't be disappointed.

The remote is HORRIBLE and doesn’t work, so we’ve had to use the buttons on the front of the fireplace which isn’t a huge deal since I have it on the setting I like best. I’ve contacted the company to see what I can do about the remote. Waiting for a reply.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Since it's unclear on what the rough opening dimensions are, here's a pic from the installation manual. For instance, for the 50 inch wide model RFH 5001c the rough opening is 45 inches wide by 17 inches tall and 3.5 inches deep. I found it hard determining which model I actually baught but if you look at the front glass dimensions, which they give you in the item descriptions, you should be able to figure it out. Good luck.

Our fireplace arrived a couple of days ago, we had somebody install it for us it looks really good we have a really big living room so it doesn’t it up all the way but if you have a small apartment it probably would. Also you have to be right in front of it to use the remote that’s the only flaw I think, other than that it looks really pretty and works

The install was almost self explanatory so instead of reading the directions I just looked at it out the box and was able to figure out how things went. The settings on the remote if you ask me is the great plus on this electric heater. It gives you different colors, fluctuating heats speeds, fluctuating color speeds, dimmer or lighter background light. It’s really a nice product and works great.

We bought this for a faux fireplace addition to an empty space in our home. Could not be happier with the final look of this unit! We live in South Florida so its mainly for aesthetic purposes, but for that one cold day in the year the heat output seems excellent.
