Set came with a loose, black rook missing the felt underneath as if someone tossed it in at the last minute on the production line.

Chessboard is cheaply glued together, arrived with scratches and marks all over it. Chess pieces are incredibly poor quality - some pieces were broken or scratched upon opening. Not worth the $40 at all - just spend $20 on a cheap set.

China product. Cheaper than it looks. Came all scuffed and the board wasn’t even, huge fault line where it opens and should be flat.

I returned this item because the two halves of the chess board did not line up properly and was wobbly when laid flat. The hinges are on the inside, which means when you unfold it, the hinges are on the bottom side that should be flat, causing the board to wobble.

Well you get what you pay for, not flat, cheep made. Spend more for quality of course Pay extra for something way better

Hinges fell apart in about two weeks. I’d have to fix it myself and not sure how since appears the holes for the screws of the hinges were drilled too big. Also screw seemed too small. Regardless, lasted two weeks, saw other reviews of people sayinf the same

It looks like they didn’t sand off some sloppy glue work before adding a thick layer of lacker that they didn’t sand at all. And it doesn’t close properly. The actual board isn’t that nice either.

Set came with numerous defects: 1. A literal hole in one of the knights 2. Felt uncentered on pawn so it sticks out from bottom 3. Loose weight in one of the Kings so it rattles when moved Clearly they don’t have good manufacturing controls. Don’t recommend and won’t be buying from this company again.

Product seemed OK, but many pieces were duplicates and many were missing also (wrong pieces) As if person putting set together did not know what they were doing. Would not recommend

Was thoroughly disappointed when I opened this chess set up. If I had paid 10 or 15 dollars for this set, I would understand, but having paid almost $40 for this set and have chipped pieces, hot glue all over the pieces, red felt stuck to the pieces in some places, and getting splinters from the board and the pieces, I instantly put the set back in the box and started my return. Don’t bother with this product.
