The board was not a great quality

The pieces are too light to use comfortably. They tip over with the slightest touch and feel cheap. Not wooden. The board is good so that is why I give it at least two stars.

The idea is great, just wish they would have actually checked the pieces, as missing a key piece is not great. Quality is lacking.

The board and pieces looked nice but feel cheap and flimsy to the touch. Also, the smell was so bad.

Wood is very soft and scratches easily. If you want to use the board for checkers as well it doesn’t sit flush with the chess pieces attached underneath. Annoying but not the end of the world

Expected way too high. Board is not even. Pieces are not uniform and too light. Too expensive for the board outcome

Nice chess set, but when unfolded the squares of the two halves do not meet where they should, and it ruins the whole look. My daughter doesn't even want to play on this board because of it.

Just received my chess set yesterday and we were so excited to open it. At first glance, it’s really nice. The wood looks nice and feels nice. The chess pieces were somewhat disappointing. Some were smooth and shiny whereas some were rough and didn’t feel polished. This should be consistent in my opinion. The most upsetting thing is, the board is obviously not aligned properly and the gap is far too big and noticeable in the center. A little disappointed because I wanted to leave this out in the living room as a center piece but it just looks off with it so crooked. :(
