Got this for the grandson for christmas, and we have really enjoyed playing together. The only thing I don't like is that I could have gotten it cheaper at Walmart.

Good solid board. Well made pieces.

We have enjoyed playing with this set. Once open there is a gap where the fold is. It’s not a problem at all for playing, just aesthetics. The quality of the pieces is really good. However make sure they don’t fall because they crack easily.

Not bad. The board was nice, just one side was a bit higher in the seam where it folds. Disappointed that the pieces are very light. I did like that the board was huge and spaces are big.

This chess set was better than I hoped for. The case and board are good quality as are the pieces. Good for the price, too. Will work for my need.

The chess set was for my grandson . He loves to challenge you to a game ! The set was nice and looked as pictured . He was very excited when he saw it. However when he opened the case , the hinge broke. It was a bit disappointing , but ok. He was ready to play.

The quality is good. I wasn't really excited by the quality, though. The board had some blemishes. A number of pieces were missing (customer service via Chess Armory was SUPER helpful and responsive -- five stars for them). The pieces are a little light for my taste. Overall, I think the price is a little high for what you get. Maybe get a used one and save some money.

For the money, this is a great starter folding chess set. Everything came in good working condition. There is a minor design flaw, where the hinge on the bottom of the set keeps it from laying completely flat when unfolded and in the position. I folded up a few sheet of paper and put it under one side to even it out, and now you cant tell without close inspection. Some of the felt is not 100% aligned on the knights, and the weight in my white queen rattles slightly, but overall this is a good set for under $40. It displays well too.
