This unit works ao well. I bought this one after returning one that didn't do much and cost almost the same. I have a small house (1055 sq ft) and I live in Florida. I decided I needed to see if a humidifier would help with the heat and humidity of Florida summers. I also wanted a more energy-efficient one as well. The first one I bought only gathered about 2 inches of water in a week so I wasn't sure if I needed one...WRONG...I have to empty this one a minimum of once a day and it holds a decent amount of water(20 pints). It's easy to use and to set up. It's relatively quiet. You can hear it running but it isn't loud. Haier is a Hotpoint brand so I recognized the brand as well. I did a lot of research and price comparing all over the web and I feel this is the best bang for your buck. It comes in different sizes too.
