I was concerned about buying anything with plastic as a component as I've read reviews of other brands that had plastic as part of the device and some negative reviews of the plastic parts breaking. This is all metal and wood. It works. It gets the root out "most of the time", but I don't see how any other brand would have a different rate of success getting the root out as they all pretty much do the same thing. The plant and the soil determine that rate of success. I am 6 feet tall and it requires no bending. The only step after pulling the weed out is getting it out of the mechanism, but I can do this easily with the side of my shoe with one swipe if it doesn't fall out on its own.

Buy it now. This is the best tool for dandelions! Not only is it effective, it is highly satisfying to use. It saves your back (no bending over!) and fast (no laboring to dig!). If you are lazy and let your dandelions get away from you and grow into dinosaurs like I do, it doesn’t always get the entirety of the whole root since they can be upwards of 6-8 inches, but it still gets most of it and eliminates them with ease. If you have middle school grade dandelions or baby ones it will get the whole root. Again, highly satisfying! I did a whole section of our yard border yesterday in about 15 mins. So great! Forget digging them out by hand or using a hula hoe! Get it now.

Does exactly what it says it does! Easy to use, works great especially on those annoying spiny weeds, saves your back. Best to use on taproot weed like dandelions and spiny weeds, does okay on things like creeping charlie but I still find those easier to pull by hand. Still no biggie as this has cut down my bending by at least 80%. Sometimes the weeds get stuck in the grip but a good shake usually dislodges them. Overall a great purchase and I'll probably be picking up a second one shortly for my roommate.

Of the sparse negative reviews, I think some folk are simply to hard to please. This product is the real deal !!! It works precisely like they said it would. How have I spent decades on my knees pulling weeds without knowing about this ? When the truck arrived I was on my hands and knees yes. Pulling weeds. I gladly shifted to Grandpas weed Puller and am standing up applauding it. I'd say, no improvement necessary. Just get this one. It does the job.

I bought a different product from a hardware local store that had a different design it did not work as well as this. This unit grips the weed when pulling it our and gets the whole root rather than cutting it like the other unit. I am very happy with the way this unit functions, it has earned its place in my garden shed. It is well built and I do not anticipate it will fail. The only thing my original purchase did better was that it ejected the weed with the push of a button, with this unit I have to use a finger to clear the weed from the grip of the weeder, no prob just wear a garden glove which is a good idea when working in the yard in any case.

Only used a handful of times, but very easy to use for picking up single weeds, once you can find the "center" of the weed (sometimes with clumps of weeds, it's difficult to find the center to position to tool over). If you have and infestation of weeds, it does get a little tiring on the hands, so wear gloves! Also, the dirt gets compacted in the teeth/grips of the tool, so I have to loosen the dirt with my foot in order to release the dirt and weeds. But saves from bending over and stressing my back and knees. Looks to be built very well. Hope it lasts for years.

I was skeptical of this tool. I’ve tried so many different garden hand tools for weeds. Some that assist but nothing truly that does the job. Our yard has become infested with thistles and dandelions. It was overwhelming. On the day it arrived my husband went out and literally cleared out 100 of these weeds in little time. The other great part? It’s oddly satisfying and addicting. Like watching power washing. We may have to sneak into the neighbors yard and pluck out their weeds too. ;)

I love this tool. My grandson told me about this tool and so I just had to have one because bending and stooping and pulling weeds was killing my back. This tool is so easy to use. Place it over the weed, step on the lever and pull up. No bending as the tool holds the weed and you can hold it up and pull the weed out of the foot of the tool. A must have it you are stooping to pull weeds.

All I had to do was center the claw over the center of the weed, step on it with the lever facing me, tilt it toward myself which makes the claw close around the root and pulls it out with the same motion. I’m 67 years old and found it easy to use. Great price Seems sturdy Easy to use Would definitely recommend. Absolutely no reason to spend more for a different weeder. This is the real deal.

I was skeptical about this weeding tool at first. It works exactly like advertised! I was shocked. It’s so easy to use. I wish I would have bought this years ago. No bending over. It takes the root out with the weed. It takes a little dirt out as well, but I don’t care. I also use an old screw drive in my other hand to flick off the weed from the end to clean it out each time. Well worth the money.
