I literally just bought a second one of these vacuums for my upstairs because I have a long haired dog (a Golden) and the roller-brush-thing gets dog hair coiled around it and stops working in every other vacuum I’ve ever had. I wish the vacuum were not so heavy but even with its weight, I’d buy it again!

Having had this Shark model for a couple years I can attest to it being very good at not collecting dog hair around the beater roller. I was amazed at the fact there was no hair wound up on the roller when I first used it. It has plenty of power to clean rugs and wood floors alike. I did have to buy a separate floor brush as it is much easier than manhandling the whole vacuum around and under things like beds. The only big negative is that the hose comes out of the machine high up. When using the hose section and wand with floor brush it tends to pull the vacuum cleaner over. If the vacuum had been designed to have the hose come out low down the vacuum wold be a lot more stable. All in all a great vacuum for those with pets that shed hair.

Update: I’ve had this vacuum 2 years now and I still love it. Since my review, I haven’t had to clean the roller of my hair. I’m used to checking/cleaning old vacuums right after vacuuming my bathroom as that’s when the hair really collects. Once I stopped checking and continue using it, it self cleaned fully. After these 2 years, I can now vacuum up to my stair landing (half way up) with the wand. The tube has slowly relaxed in its tightness and the vacuum doesn’t fall over any more. I haven’t noticed any reduction in suction. I’m still happy I purchased this vacuum. I’ve had the vacuum 2 months now. I have long hair, 2 LARGE dog and 3 cats. A few things are important to me in a vacuum. Ease of cleaning the roller of my long hair. I was excited about the self cleaning rollers. Over all, the majority of the roller gets clean. It has not been able to clean the center part of the roller (see photo). However, cleaning this small part is 100% easier then my past vacuums. Container Capacity. I was very impressed with the amount of times I didn’t have to empty the containers. It holds a lot more than the Dyson animal I had. Clean the first time. The suction and cleaning of the vacuum works well. There’s no need to go over the area again, and again as I’ve had to do with vacuums in the past. This is comparable to my Dyson vacuum. The main downside to this vacuum is that it’s top heavy. When using the hand wand, I cannot go far (maybe 2 steps) with out it falling over. I cannot do my stairs with out taking it with me and holding it just incase or having someone hold it for me. When vacuuming the edges of my tile floor, I have to hold onto it as I move since I can’t go more than a step anyways without it falling over. Over all, I am happy with the performance of this vacuum. The issues with this unit being top heavy allows me to use my cordless vacuum for the stairs (which is why I got it) and tile edges. If you are looking for a unit that you will use the handheld wand a lot, this top heavy issue may be something to consider when looking at this unit.

Let me start by saying that I am a sweeper connoisseur and I go for the best of the best. This is one of the best sweeper products I have ever used !! I have two teenagers with a lot of friends that come over and a short haired cat. This product will clean up so much dust and is great on carpets and hardwood floors. This is definitely been designed by a woman it is lightweight so easy to take the parts off and put them back on and is self cleaning. You will be BLOWN AWAY by how much dust this thing sucks up from your carpet. In one room alone the first time I used it it picked up a tall kitchen trash bag full of dust and this is a room that I ran the sweeper regularly. This sweeper came recommended from a tip top cleaning lady that had tried all sweepers.

I vacuumed an area rug in our bedroom where our Aussie sleeps, twice with other vacs. This one arrived and I immediately used it to vacuum the same rug! All this hair was drawn out of the carpet fibers! I hope it lasts long…but the first use has really impressed me!!

I've always had eureka vacuums in the past but all my friends recommended a shark (Dyson was out of my price renge). And let me tell ya, I'm so glad I got this. I usually have to get a new vacuum every 5 years because I use it 3x a week and have 2 cats. My old one just wasn't sucking up anything anymore and there was a leak in the seal around the canister, so it was time to splurge. This shark has a large canister and holds a ton compared to my old vacuums. The first time I used it, I had to empty it 3x because it sucked up so much cat hair on my carpets. About a month or 2 later, it still has great suction power and sucks up cat fur so well. I fill a canister from the whole house at once. It even works on the linoleum in the kitchen. (My eureka just shot dirt and fur all over the kitchen and didn't suck anything up.) So, I give this shark a 5 star review. Hands down the best vacuum I've ever owned. Only downfall is that the cord is like 6ft too short to reach the whole house from 1 outlet. So I added a 10ft extension cord to it and it now reaches the whole house. It twists and maneuvers really well around furniture and under the edge of the beds. I love it!

This is a 7 month review. Let me start out by saying we live in a 1945 house and only have one carpet in the entire house that is in an addition that was added within the last 20 years. It is the original carpet and has survived three families of children and pets in that time. We have 4 cats and a dog and this is by far the most used room by them and us. We shampoo(once a month) and vacuum(once or twice a week) regularly. We thought our old Dirt Devil was doing a good job and were happy with it other that its inability to get hair through the vacuum well. It died which is why we bought this machine after some looking around. First impressions were on how light the machine was and how strong the suction was. We then went over the room several times in a row, each time removing even more dust, dirt and hair. We were dumbfounded. Our only issue was in the handling which I prefer older styles but its a small price to pay for the rest of the pros with it. After 7 months I think we had one hair issue with the spinner whereas our old one needed cleaned out every other use. We love it more with each use. This is an amazing cleaner for a busy family with children and pets.

I just received 30 minutes ago and assembled in about 1 minute with no need for instructions. I tested it on one carpeted room about 12X14 and it seemed to work very well. I just vacuumed yesterday with the shark nv752 and I filled the dirt cup with hair. I have 2 German Shepherds + 3 cats, so some hair may be new, but not this much in one day. I love my old shark but I have to empty the dirt cup 8-10 times when I vacuum the whole house. 80% carpet and 20% hardwood with throw rugs. Not as much fine powder was picked up as I am used to with the nv752 but maybe I'm getting it down from vacuuming yesterday. I put pictures so everyone can see the difference in size of the dirt cup. That is 90% why I bought the new one. The old one still works fine, I have to say! It was just getting old having to stop halfway through a room and go empty the canister. Also the nv752 has crevices and nooks that would hold the hair and I would have to hand pick some of it out of the cup. If you don't have pets then go with the 752, it works great but If you do have pets then this one is much better. The brush does seem to pull much more hair and doesn't have to have the roller cleaned and cut out hairballs and such. It is a little hard to push, but if you turn the dial to relieve some of the suction it is much easier but that is a good thing, it shows how much suction it has. This could be a premature evaluation as I have only done one room so far and not any hardwood floors yet. If I have anything negative or updates I will update my review. I almost got the pet pro model but it seems the only advantage was a motorized upholstery tool plus almost $100 more. Oh almost forgot, It is quieter than the other as well.
