Installed and worked perfectly.
WhyShouldI
I've used H&R Block Delux + State for several years, and overall, I'm happy with it. Problems include obscure warnings with no obvious resolution and insufficient guidance for many of the inputs. I plan to keep using it, though - it's better than anything else I've used.

Been using HRB since the 90's and have only had one problem. IRS put my sister on a watch list because of phishing. So, she had to have a 5 or 6 digit code number to enter into the HRB space. HRB software would not take it. Burnt a whole day of frustration and gave up. She mailed it in manually and finally got her refund.

Every Year the Software is great to use.. until I have to deal with the IRS PIN number. I'm a victim of identity theft and I receive an IRS PIN number. I have trouble finding where to enter the PIN number. This should be a question in the tax payer profit and it is not.

Each year, we go back and forth to figure the max, total refund for both Federal and State figured Married Joint and Separate. Each year we have TERRIBLE trouble that the e-filing verification fails, because it doesn't match up the prior year's figures, because of the change. This is a major flaw in the software. During the pandemic, we had to wait 7 months for our paper return filing and refund. This year it took 3 hours to do the government verification. It is very frustrating and needs to be fixed.

IMO the hard part about doing your taxes is getting all the numbers together. Once that is done it is just a matter of plugging them into the program. HR Block handles most of the situations I encounter. Occasionally you are on your own, but this is rare. Any tax prep software is going to "Maximize your refund". They all follow the same rules.

When I first purchased it, the activation code included was invalid. I tried several times via email and each code I was given didn't work/was invalid. Eventually, by finding a phone number and talking to a person who spoke English who sent me a link for the program I purchased, I was finally able to do my taxes. The updates came as expected and all ended well.

This is the 2nd year I've used H&R Block software to do my taxes. It is relatively easy to follow and has questions answered quickly. I have 3 limited partnership (LLC) as part of my folio. Most trades are pretty straightforward but the LLC stocks are very tedious and the questions asked are at times vague

Preparation went well. 1st IRS suspected my identity might be false.. I went through ID.me. Then they put my return “under review” for 180 days and won't say why. They say it's NOT an audit, but they won't release my rather large refund due. Have you ever heard of such a thing? My return is very simple and uses standard deductions. There's really nothing to review. They say they have my 1099s and W-2. They refuse to tell me what they're reviewing. They have hung up on me twice when I ask what they are reviewing. The Taxpayer Assistance help line says I don't qualify for assistance - I have no emergency need for the large refund they are holding. HELP!

The latest iteration of H&R Deluxe is not much different than earlier versions. Now you must input your RMD, if necessary. Stock trading could still use some work. Importing data is not satisfying. Capital Gains should be easier to input. Overall, I recommend this for most individuals with simple returns and only stock trading income.
