I have used Block tax software for years having long ago abandoned Turbotax for Block because Block represented a better value. However, the decline in Block software this year was exponentially greater than in past years, especially regarding my state package. I actually submitted my state tax return with errors because Block could not/would not correct them in a timely manner. By then, the errors were not going to affect the bottom line of my tax return. I would have been better off completing my tax return by hand on paper. I even called Block to point out the errors and was told that I was not the only customer complaining of mathematical errors. I will not purchase Block tax software again and will return to Turbotax going forward.

This software product totally failed me. It lost complete copies of returns, placed data on the wrong lines of the form, and miscalculated taxes. I've had to submit corrected 1040X Federal returns, and I submitted hand-prepared paper state returns. Phone calls for assistance were futile. Total software failure.

it needs to be redone as much is too complicated and should not be mixed with other similar kinds of income. Rents should just be signing over rights for future production, nothing to do with rentals at all. You know nothing about this business, depletion allowance, etc.

I had a operating system crash that forced a reloadof the operating system. I was able to redownload the deluxe software plus 1 state program however could not recover the software for the second state I had filed in even though I had a receipt. Help line stated they couldn't help me and that the only way to get the program was to re buy the second state program.

I had to file in two states this year and the software didn't correctly calculate it, which was caught by one of the states. Then when I went to file an amended return, I learned that form wasn't offered in the software, so I'm having to hire someone else to handle it. I've used HRBlock software for over 20 years, but this is the last.

There is an error in the interview process with regards to schedule K1's that has been there for two years of use in this product. You have to do that before anything else to get it to work. Also, for the State (SC) part of it, the interview is also in the Federal part, you have to search for the form for state, then fill in the form. Can not get to it any other way. I have called this error in and did a review on it already. Company is not listening.

Works well (Federal and State) & I've been a happy customer until I learned they have been sharing my data with other companies without my consent. Want a clear statement they will not do this in future. Until then I would not recommend any tax software unless they make that assurance.

The layout and instructions for the final filing were confusing. I thought I had finished since all info and my bank acct details were provided. But somehow the actual submission to IRS was not made by the program. By the time I realized that my return was several weeks late resulting in a penalty even though everything was complete before the deadline and payment was in my bank account awaiting IRS access to same. Next year I'll use another product.
