I've been using this software annually for quite a few years now. I love it. It makes filing tax returns simple. If you have many stock transactions in the course of a year, it's particularly helpful, through through automated document download/import and preparation.. I can't imagine a simpler way to file.

I was able to get my taxes done. However, this product isn't anywhere close to being as good as Turbo Tax. It feels clunky as a Windows app, is difficult to understand when something is wrong, failed to import my documents from Fidelity correctly, and lacks a general polish needed to instill confidence that it is doing the right thing. However, it works for the price (half of what Turbo Tax costs).

I have been buying this s/w for 25 years. In that time, I have had to contact support 5-7 times with software issues related to technical and tax problems. On the rare times I could talk to a human, they made promises of fixing things. But over the years, they never fixed a single problem. And trying to follow-up I could never get ahold of a human again. Problems were never fixed. One might ask why I continue to use it. Well, it is good (and cheaper) s/w than the competition and nice to be able to estimate my taxes throughout the year.

Font are too small, cannot adjust. Too many fee-based product upgrades interspersed within the program. Cost too much for State filing. Depending on your adjusted gross income and/or other factors, the IRS website has many free tax programs that are surprisingly better.

New Jersey tax form kept giving me errors and the form I've never had a problem before but My NJ tax form was completed incorrectly. It was supposed to include my Social Security income but did not. I ended up getting a blank form and I completed and filed it manually. I'm trying TurboTax next year.

I have been using HRB Deluxe for years. Typically it's great, however this year there were some issues. Importing information from a brokerage account was not working due to the fact that my SSN begins with two zeros. It took several calls and weeks to get this resolved, and even then it was only because I sent an email to a senior leader at HRB. There needs to be an escalation path for instances like this, rather than telling people that they can enter all the information themselves (which I was told be several people). Otherwise why purchase the product…

I always get the least expensive version that offers inclusive state filing. Last year I owed a pile to the Feds because HR had changed my W-4 status as 'Married filing jointly' over a year after the devorce decree ratified. The software couldn't even flag the discrepency after my status was unmarried the year before and no info about a wife was listed. I hope the Feds improve their free-file program. I'd ditch this in a heartbeat.

It has been a few months since I used this software. I found it difficult to find things that I knew had to be there. I personally am not crazy about this even though it costs less than Turbo Tax. If you keep going back and searching, you eventually find what you need but it is not intuitive.

I thought I would be able to do both state and federal taxes and have them e filled. This did not include my state and I had to pay extra. I felt like they snuck that cost in as the title of the product I would have expected everything to be e filled.
