When a new tax season is started, the tool will import 99% of last years data nicely, but not my bank account and routing numbers, which I have to type in twice. Also, there is no option to skip Itemization and go straight to Standard Deduction. Lastly, filling out the tool is like a conversation; tell us about this, that, and other, and the forms and calculations are in background. Getting to these actual forms during the conversation is cumbersome.

I completed several non-complex family returns in about 30 - 45 mins each, which was great. However, I needed to input a tax form for the sale of some stock and had difficulty finding where and how to do this. You need to improve your help features to more directly help users search for specific forms or answers to questions.

I have issues with the state tax. It all ways ask you to explain some thing that was on Federal return. It should carry over seamless. It should know what was on Fed return. I then have to go back and look at Fed return to see what it is talking about.

H R Block is a great tax program. It asks most of the tax questions you need for your normal person. It gives you the option to upgrade if you feel you need to. Only bad feature is that it charges to file state taxes. If it gets rejected, you have to pay the state fee each time. Only charges you one. Other state filing fees are refunded.

Fairly easy to use most features. I've been using for at least 15 years now. Occasionally I have encountered issues that are not straight forward but usually am able to get through. Like the fact that it brings my previous data forward and can access more of my on line files.

I've been using this product since it was called Tax Cut and it continues to be a reliable, if pricey solution. My biggest complaint is that the state e-filing is overly expensive and you're charged for every filing, even filings caused by failures in the product (i.e., inability of federal filing to complete successfully due to application issues).

I have used this program for several years. I take standard deductions. I have investment income and SS income. No state income tax in Texas. Investment income importing is a bit confusing sometimes with flags about items that the program says that need to be completed or modified. These can be confusing to me, and notes in the program are limited in these cases . I have not had any problems sending in the return electronically and received my refund in due course. I would like to see a simplified federal tax liability forecasting as part of the program for next year withholding estimates

Software works fine for most common tax entries. For capital gains, the input fields are limited to how much dollar amount you can put in and its generally no more than $8 million. I wish H&R increased this limit to $500 million or more to help in data entry

...I've purchased your product since the Kiplinger Tax Cut days. I'm not a fan of the over the internet download. I prefer disc, thumb drive, memory card, something that I can hold and reload anytime, anywhere for present and future use. I actually have the entire unbroken sequence of tax programs back to 1998. All except the 2023 tax year that was available by download only.
