Relatively easy to navigate, relatively intuitive. However...It would seem that when "foreign taxes paid" is entered, the very next question should be asking whether one wants to apply these taxes as deductions or as tax credits. Applying as credits required lots of exploring and trial and error, and I'm still not sure I got the credit I was entitled to. Also...unable to efile state (Alabama) because there were too many dividend entries for the software to handle. (I don't recall the exact maximum H&R allowed for efiling, but it was low single digits.) This was never an issue with Turbo Tax. So the state return had to be printed and mailed, a major inconvenience. On the plus side, the price point is favorable vs. Turbo.

I love using the program but it's annoying seeing what you call "updates". I also feel that you are making the IRS scapegoats for your inability to get updates to your program loaded in time. Every year for the past few your information says that the IRS isn't ready to accept my return for things like SSI not complete by the IRS. Twice I have contacted the IRS and was told that this isn't true. I gave up calling the IRS cause they claim that HR Block is not staying up with constant changes. Please go back to being the awesome program I have loved for so many years.

Does the job. Disappointed that it doesn't evolve to be more informative and helpful. Should offer more navigation back into workflow. Should not resort to form entry without offering more tailored help tool. I use for past familiarity but next time will try a competitor

I've used Block tax software for more that 20 years and am a fan. BUT... this year I found no guidance or information about including the benefits of Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) in my return. This is a relatively new, but important part of charitable giving for seniors and should be addressed ... SOON!

I've been using this since before H&R Block acquired it. I tried TurboTax once, and switched back. My 2 complaints are: 1. I used to be able to depreciate 5 items with this program. Now I can only do 3. and, 2. Even though you download the previous year's info, it doesn't retrieve prior year's accelerated depreciation, required by the state.

I completed my taxes but couldn't file because there was an update problem with the electric vehicle program. It sounded like it was an HR Block issue, not the IRS. I had to wait weeks just to get my paperwork filed. Also, I may have outgrown my need for this software as it seems 90% doesn't apply to me. I end up clicking and entering numbers that result in no change to anything. Why go through the work?

Updates always real late in tax season so transfer of data from federal to state wrong at times like this years 2023 returns.left wrong but figured out myself with still no tax owed so I guess they didn't reject it.who wants to wait till near april to do taxes?will see this next season if I try another service!

Overall, my experience was ok. There was one issue that arose while working on my state return. I needed a form to obtain a credit for purchasing a solar system last year. The software did not provide it. That pretty much ruined my attempt to complete my state return using the software. I wasn't able to figure out a work-around. Probably won't use this product next year.

I used this software and input all data from my financial records as the program requested. Unfortunately, the IRS selected my 2023 tax return for audit. Audit has been going on for 3 months and may take another month to complete. Not sure what outputs of this software may have triggered my tax return to be selected for an audit. I noticed it takes some of my financial investment earnings and places them in a business income category. Software categorized my tax return as a low audit risk. Not sure if I will use this software package in the future. Future depends on IRS audit findings.

Ease of use is just fair. Too many steps in Finishing. Cannot copy just a few pages of the return. I would appreciate a Quarterly Estimated Tax software rather than try to fit Quarterly Tax reports into the existing software. My email address should not be required.
