You can install the device using the top-link app. But this device does not connect to HomeKit.I’ve no idea why Apple allows these OEM to use HomeKit logo. I’m sending this device back.

UPDATE: After 2weeks of back and forth email. I give up. First I was asked to pay to return. Then they suddenly offered free shipping. The instructions they emailed were convuluted and did not work. This plug is simply not ready for Prime Time. Understand that I like this company but this plug, for MATTER, does not work. Stay away IMHOAs Others Have Reported....The P125M Plug Does Not Work With Apple Home.Still no good firmwareIt does work with Alexa and the Tp-Link TAPO (Not KASA) app.My 1st Attempt at MATTER. A failure!!

I was excited to play with some Matter devices. I have 4 of these devices. Three in one home and another in another home. The three in the main home connected to a Nest Wifi Pro 6e all failed to update from 1.0.4 to 1.0.7 last week using the auto-update feature and now won't connect to wifi. The other home is connected to a Nest Wifi 5 and updated with no issue. I am able to get them to connect to my phone hotspot and was able to update them to 1.0.7 thinking that was the issue. Still not able to connect to the same wifi I was connected to last week. The one in the other home updated and is connected just fine. I've tried resetting the plugs several times and resetting them to no avail. These things are trash and I'll get something else.

This product does not work with Apple, Google, or Matter in my testing. I have tried for hours to get it to work. I do not recommend it. None of the troubleshooting offered has worked. If I find something that does I will update this post. I really wish it did work though because I want to use it. I'm pretty tech savvy, and I have dozens of other "smart" devices. This is not a smart device although it claims to be.

Read instructions in box, installed. App then gave personal information required (email,& Google account info , then tried to get app to work device .. but app on My phone could not find device after qr scan ... it could not find the deviceI .. I have several Amazon & Google devices & none were as problematic as this ... You have been warned. ... Returning & do not want any Tapo devices

A thread enabled device shouldn't need wifi.

Followed directions to App…downloaded..asks for membership fee…in App after downloaded…didn’t even get to Alexa app connection…have to pay to move forward with product setup….sucks

Even carefully following the instructions, and after several resets, only one of the three plugs was able to connect to my Tapo phone app, and that didn't last overnight. Now none of them will connect.I'd give zero stars if that were an option, to match how much actual use I will get from these plugs.
