I ordered a new product, but why did I get a used one?

There is no protective film on the surface of the product and there is no screw required to install the product, and the box is also plastic-wrapped... It is obvious that this is not a new product.

defective item

I would give it 0 stars, but had to give it one.Terrible!!! It was deemed defective by the manufacturer and the window for return has expired on Amazon. A waste of time trouble shooting for us and for the electrician whom we had to pay for his time. Very dissatisfied.

Millions of issues with correct connections

If you’re not an HVAC expert, forget it!! I want to smash each one of these with a sledgehammer one at a time!!!!!

Worthless

I have tried two of these and they are worthless. They connect to my internet but will not show up in either the Nest app or the Google Home app. I have tried several times. I am about to thow them both in the trash.

Temp settings are off by 6°

For a long time, my electric bill has been very high and I’m always saying it’s cold in the house at night when the thermostat is set to 75°. To my surprise it’s actually 69°. I’m in south Florida and it’s been 96 ° to 100° during the day (5/28/2024) the temp on the thermostat wouldn’t drop below 77° thats 71° actual, Poor ac unit running 24-7. Until I find a replacement thermostat 79° is the new 73°. The issue is the thermostat is generating its own heat from its internal computer, the wall around unit is 6° cooler than unit, temp on unit reads is what my temp gun reads on the side if the thermostat. Hope this help someone

PLEASE DON’T BUY

Please read this review and please listen. My husband and I bought this thermostat to go with our new home. At first it was amazing. After a month it just stopped working! I was on the phone with Google nest support for a half hour who told me I would have to contact a local technician to test my wires. HVAC company said it is not the system but the thermostat. Sure enough got a new thermostat and our AC has never worked better!!! Please avoid this product. I truly want to help people from purchasing.

Useless - it changes your temp settings on its own

If you like a thermostat that thinks it knows better than you do about how cold or hot you like your house, go for it. It's honestly horrible. It has a mind of its own and it will constantly change the temperature away from what you set it at. It's beyond annoying. It fails at the most basic task expected of a thermostat: setting the temperature. You also can't turn these "smart" features off on the app or on the device. I included the screenshot of the app where you should be able to toggle off automatic schedule changes and as you can see, they're not there. Don't waste your money and time. It might be Google and look shiny, but it really sucks. I'm done with Nest, DONE. After dealing with Nest all I want is a dumb plastic block of a thermostat on the wall with knobs and buttons that will actually keep the temperature settings I put in. A novel concept Google could learn from.

Google controls the temperature not you

If you want Google to apply their climate change agenda to the temperature of your home by limiting your coolest temp in the summer to 76 degrees then this is the thermostat for you. The temperature hold option will only allow 24hrs worth of temperature control before the thermostat automatically changes back to “ECO” mode which is the only static temperature control available for the product. If you enjoy 76 degrees or warmer during the summer then you shouldn’t have any problems

terrible thermostat

Set up program full of clinches, voice support not available, I bought one here, cannot return it or get support. Time to move on and find something else.

Does not work!

I bought a house with this piece of garbage in it six months ago. I absolutely hate it! The AC comes on when it’s already too cold in the house. I spend my time getting up and running to the thermostat and turning it back up and it has a mind of its own. It does not do what I tell it to do. I have contacted Google multiple times and they tell me to sync it with my phone with their Nest app, but it will not sync! I have probably spent a good eight hours trying to get this thermostat to sync with the app on my phone and it will not! Google has even been on the phone with me telling me what to do and it will not do what they say it should do, so it’s not some stupid old lady trying to do something that she doesn’t understand. I have multiple devices that sync with my phone just fine. If I had known this, I would not have bought the house. I would’ve told them to replace that ridiculous thermostat or take money off so I could replace it. I will never buy anything from Google! As a matter fact, I’m not even using their search engine anymore and I used to swear by it! Do not buy anything associated with Google because it will not work. I have a medical condition & I’m cold almost all the time and I swear, Google is trying to kill me because they keep turning on the air conditioning when it’s only 72° and I’m freezing! I can’t afford to refrigerate the entire house on social security.
