Petsafe collar and fence system has made our two large dogs more obedient and you can't beat the price on it since it's the best

We had this system our labradoodlefor 3 years and were worried about having to buy another system and collar entirely because we had a 6 month old labradoodle (golden doodle). The golden doodle was the worst dog you can think of. When we left our house and the golden doodle was left in the house,we would come back to so many things destroyed, so we started making him stay outside all day and sleep inside. But before bed started, we would go to find him and he wasn't where to be found. We put him in a large backyard fence with 5 plus feet high tall. Yet, he had some how managed to continuously get out. We started watching him to see how he does it, because believe me we checked every place for a hole that he would be able to Escape. What we discovered, believe it or not he had learned to pick the gate latch up with his nose and slide the gate to the side all with his nose and he could open the gate from the latch that way...giving him a 5 second timeframe to escape. When we seen that, me and my wife said we need tog get a collar or a system just like our other older dog (who by the way usedtoalwaystry to escape but that was easy for him because he could clear a 5 foot fence jumping over it), our older dog after 3 years with this collar and system he "wears" the collar and knows the boundaries so well he doesn't go close so we don't even charge his back up because he assumes its on and working.I don't know if we will get there with this golden doodle or not but we have been using the fence and collar successfully for 2 months. The golden doodle will still try his boundaries out just to see still. But after 20-30 minutes he barks and tries to let himself in ( we found out the hard way that the golden doodle could open any door, how he knows? Beats me...we keep our doors locked more now than before we had the dogs.Overall it was very simple to just add a second collar it's the existing module system we had and works great! I would recommend this to anyone even slightly considering purchasing it, you won't regret it. Using this and crate training, you wouldn't even believe it's the same dog. Which makes me and wife happy since we don't have to come home to a burglarized home that was done by our own golden doodle.

Awesome and cost effective alternative to expensive fences and small lots!

Had this system over a year now and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to a dog pen, chain, or expensive fencing! Simple setup instructions, easy to read and understand. Even tells you how to introduce the system and it’s boundaries to your pet. My dog weighs approx 110-115lb and I’ve never had to set the correction level above a 5. He learned his perimeter very quickly and I love that it has the warnings before it actually shocks. I charge the collar up at night about a week and a half to 2 weeks as I remember to do it and so far it’s never gone dead and still works like new! Just check the contact points every time you charge it! I didn’t think about doing that and had to replace one that had worked itself loose and fell out. Overall great product and I would buy another one if anything happens to it!

Buy this! You will not regret it!

We do not have a fence and originally purchased the Halo collar. After weeks of training, our pyredoodle still would run straight through her boundaries, even with the longer attachments to account for her thick fur. It may work for some dogs as it does have great reviews, but I just felt that if my dog wasn't affected by the static (even at the highest setting) what was the point? I sold it on Ebay and purchased the Petsafe system. And WOW. Within three days she knew where her boundaries were and respected them. I am absolutely amazed. The true test was someone jogging down our street, she went after them (to play of course) and as soon as she got through that boundary she made a U turn and came right back. It is a little heartbreaking to hear that first whimper or two from the shock, but it's for their own good and also gives you peace of mind. Now we can relax outside and enjoy the weather and let her wander around the yard by herself. Also, it's been about 2 weeks and I have yet to need to charge the collar. Invest in this system, you will not regret it!

Works great for my 70 lb lab/pit mix

My dog loves to chase everything and will not listen to being called back when she’s distracted. It took a few days of training, but I can now let her outside and not worry about her roaming. She plays with a neighbor’s dog but will stop in her tracks if she gets beeped. You just have to make sure the collar is tight enough especially if your dog has thick fur. This is not for dogs who are outside 24/7.

Worked flawlessly

It took our dog 2 days to train on the boundaries and she was good to go! She had a bad habit of chasing cars down the street before we got this but was very respectful of the perimeter once we trained her using the method described in the training guide that comes with the system. I recommend this to all my friends.I sat the unit in my kitchen cupboard so it was out of sight and it worked well. There was a high pitch whine noise if the boundary was set as wide as it would go. I had it set at about 80% capacity and it was less than the hum of the fridge. The unit does get a little warm but not concerningly so.The battery life of the collar lasted several days.

Love this system. Easy to set up and teach.

I have 2 dogs one is a 9 year old Australian shepherd who recently moved into the house and a 3 year old white German shepherd. Both are long haired. The older one kept talking off down the road and then the younger one started following. I was afraid they would get hit by a car. A friend has an in ground fence that he said works great with his 2 big dogs but I don't have the time to bury the fence so I thought I would try wireless. Another friends' family recommended the stay and play. When I got the transmitter and receivers and read the instructions it said to train the dogs 15 minutes 4 times a day for 14 days before letting them go on their own. I don't have time for that either so it sat on my counter for a while until out of fear for their safety I decided to just give them a crash course. I set up the flags and took each dog individually on a leash to learn the boundaries. The Ausie caught on quickly that I was listening for the beep to turn around and was soon turning before me in the first session. It took two days and one good correction when she wanted to chase the horse for the younger one to catch on. Still it only took a weekend to get them both where I could trust that they wouldn't cross the boundaries. Now I just turn the collars on and let them out in the morning. I can watch them on the outdoor cameras while I get ready for work. I never have to worry about them getting hit or running off where I can't find them. They are always waiting at the door when I go to let them in which is a time saver in the morning. In the afternoon they can go out and play as long as they want and I don't have to stay out there the whole time. I love this fence! I recently purchased a third collar for my son's 8 month old terrier that stays with us when he is traveling for his work. She loves to run off into the dark woods at night and I'm afraid a coyote will get her. I can't wait for it to get here.Downside to this system is that if there is a power outage the dogs will receive a correction. It times out in 15 seconds but still I don't feel comfortable leaving the collars on all day when I'm not home or during a storm.

Had one long ago.

Had one for another dog long ago, but you had to put a battery in the collar. Added new dogs to our life and had one which would just run. This was the solution. I would highly recommend this solution, we ordered another collar so both dogs go off of the one unit. I love that it’s a rechargeable collar now, my other dog use to see if the battery died everyday, and the charge hold a long time. I actually got another one to go in another house, so I can bring them there. Of course you only need one and can use it in other locations.

Best purchase for my dog ever!

The neighbors on either side of us have fences and the people behind us said they were thinking about getting one so I didn't want to spend money on fencing in our yard if I didn't need to (the property behind us is a large field.) But when I'd play with my Golden Retriever puppy off leash in the back yard, if she saw someone out front, and even across the street, she would bolt to go see them. Or if she saw a bunny (which are plentiful), she'd dart after them and I worried she would follow them to the busy street if they went that way. I decided to check Amazon out for wireless fences, just to see how much they would cost, and came across this amazing fence! There were a few reviews that made me hesitate but I figured I could try it and if it didn't work return it. Best dog purchase ever! She only had to get zapped once the first time I was showing her the boundaries and she doesn't even go near them anymore (maybe to the front of the trees on the pic and the line is all the way to where the field starts). She doesn't even chase all the bunnies that live in the field if they're at the edge of our yard. We took it camping this summer so people didn't have to trip over a long lead and when I showed her the boundary flags and she heard the beeps, she ran right back towards our tent. I can't speak to any possible inconsistencies with the boundary line since she doesn't push it at all, but I definitely say this is very worthwhile purchase! I've only had to charge the collar maybe once a month too I think.
