Hard to fit, return options are really bad for me.

I measured my cat behind the front legs and he measured 18". Collar said that was the bottom range of fit. However, to make this work, the collar has to be all buckled/puckered up to fit. The cat can back right out of it if you hold on to him that way. I would return it but return is $5.99 unless I drive 25 miles (one way) to a UPS Store. What happened to printing your label and being able to drop at a UPS drop 2 miles away? Pissed!

It works

I didn’t like my dogs reaction when shocked and I think I will keep but not use ! Might be something I use for just added protection when needed !!

Inconsistent

First one seemed like the collar was slowly not working over the first week. The boundary was constantly moving. Maybe because of my underground power from the street. Customer service tried to help. Returned and got another one but experienced the same problem. Am getting a wired system installed. Can't take a chance my dog will find the fluctuating holes in the wireless fence.

Stopped working effectively after 11 months.

We purchased 3 of the transmitter boxes and put them around our property. The dog stayed in the areas for 11 months without failure. For the last two months, the dog gets out every few days. We purchased a new collar. Same thing happens. She will stay in the boundaries, then get out about every 2-3 days. I have over $1,000 invested at this one year mark. I'm disappointed the system is no longer reliable.

Frustrating and inconsistent, but now it works.

We live on a very busy road, but can’t put a gate in front of the driveway, so we needed this. I was worried that if our dog broke through even once, it would be the end of him.Following the training guide in the instruction manual, we set up the flags around the yard where the collar beeped. It was not really a circle, more like a jagged saw blade shape- which is frustrating. But when we took the dog out while wearing the collar, it began beeping at slightly different places than it had before so the flags weren’t accurate. We redid the flags at least 4 times before they were generally correct! Then you train the dog first to see the flags (mine was too oblivious and didn’t notice them) then to hear the beeping (again, he didn’t care), then on the lowest vibration setting. He literally COULD NOT FEEL IT.So we cranked it up to the third setting, which scared him out of his wits. He didn’t understand the rules that we had been trying to teach him, so instead of coming back into the yard, he just panicked and ran farther out! The collar does not give a “warning beep” it begins beeping at the same time that it starts vibrating or shocking. The dog finally ran to the house and wouldn’t come off the porch for the rest of the day. I was worried he’d been traumatized instead of taught, but we turned the collar back down to its lowest setting and let him out again the next day to try it (with us). He seemed to have once again forgotten what the flags meant, but when he got close enough to hear the beeping- he sprinted back to the house.Since then, we haven’t had any problems. He roams the yard happily and stays within his border. He doesn’t seem nervous unless one of the kids crosses the border and he can’t follow. He hasn’t needed to be shocked or vibrated after the first time. It was extremely frustrating to set up and get going, but now it is doing its job- so that’s good enough for me.

It's okay.

The fence has the potential to be great, but for me and my dogs it doesn't work to well. I've tried setting the base up in different locations of my house and one way or another there's always a dead zone somewhere. Also, the tone (beep) is pretty quiet, I have a dog hard of seeing and hearing and she is having a hard time picking up on the flags and beep. She's a fast learner though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm also maxing it out at a 95 foot range. Maybe a smaller range would work better? I'm disappointed I spent $450 for the 2 collars and base.

Still trying this.

Hard to set perimeter since its a "round" perimeter. Not sure it's worth the cost!Definitely not for my larger GSD.Still evaluating for our FrenchieThe GSD bolted right through, even with a few weeks of training. I'm thinking a real fence may be best instead of how expensive this was, and still may return.

Collar malfunction

It worked great at first. Within a month she didn't need flags and would stay within area. After that, the collar started going off inside the perimeter, even in the house. To replace the collar is almost as much as original purchase. Will buy another brand.
