Loving this kit!

I've never waxed anything before so I did tons of research and watched at least a dozen videos on how to do it when I came across this kit. I struggled between this one and the Pro kit but found this one to be more of what I wanted. This wax comes -with the DVD (I thought everyone else reviewing here was just exaggerating when they said it was graphic but dear lord the first thing I see is a vagina), -a 14 oz can of hard wax (you DO NOT need strips with this. it hardens and becomes a strip itself which I found so incredibly awesome), -two little bottles of product, -a lovely wax warmer, -one clean collar to put around your can of wax for easy clean up, - and three different sizes of applicators. Hard wax is definitely my go to type because I like the thought of saving money not having to buy rolls of muslin. The only thing that I wasn't happy with was that the two bottles of product leaked all over everything. The good news is that everything is wrapped securely in plastic so nothing got on the wax, dvd, applicators, or warmer. Things I recommend going out and buying before you wax any body parts: -baby powder (keeps the wax from sticking to skin. I hated the pre-epilation oil. Really not a fan of oils in general) -Some clean collars for your warmer (the kit comes with one but if it gets messy quickly then you'll need more) -possibly a trimmer (if you are braving anywhere below the belt and your hair is too long a trimmer is a godsend. I ran out and bought a $10 razor/trimmer) -Popsicle sticks. The kit comes with different sizes but they're angled and I found that having some round sticks improves my application. -Aloe Vera. After you wax the area is tender and needs to be soothed. I use aloe vera often so I always have some on hand. I've only waxed my upper lip, between my eyebrows, and my arms. I never had any problem with messes or anything like that. I didn't have any problem with pain either. (take some pain killers 30 minutes before you wax if you're worried) Some tips: -I heated the wax on high for about an hour until it becomes very very runny. Then I set it to low or about 20 minutes to half an hour so that the consistency is like a glue. Check the temperature on your wrist to make sure it's comfortable for you. I like my wax warm but not excruciatingly hot. -Apply thinly. You can always add more layers if the wax is too brittle. -If wax gets stuck on nails, hair, or skin use baby oil, vegetable oil, or olive oil to gently rub it away. Key word: GENTLY. Wish you the best of luck and hope this review helps!

Easy to use. The rest is you having the guts and pain tolorance to rip out your hairs

So this kit is really nice. I got the hard wax for a Brazilian. It does get messy, I mean, it’s wax. What do you expect? READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! I see so many reviews that are from personal laziness from not reading instructions. It takes a while for the wax to melt and the instructions will tell you that. The list comes with some pre and post oils. There is a handy little cardboard guard that you put between the wax container and the warmer. It’s basically a wax drip, so it’s nice. Kit also comes with some wood sticks for applying the wax. It does take a bit for the wax to harden. Don’t buy this in hopes that you’re magically going to be able to give yourself and amazing Brazilian wax if this is your first time doing it. It’s tiring and stressful initially, but that has nothing to do with this kit. The kit is perfect. The rest is up to you to be patient and research. Grab a mirror and do small patches initially. Make sure to test the temp with a small dot in your wrist. People burning themselves and blaming the kit. There is a lower setting for a reason. You lower it, and then you wait, and then test again. It’s common sense.

Waxing during shelter in place!

TLDR: Works great but you should know what you are getting into. Because of Covid-19, my Brazilian waxing appointment was canceled. I refuse to go back to full bush and I can't shave (Black woman with very coarse hair). I researched products and watched videos. I'm familiar with hard wax (EWC) and soft wax (Lunchbox). I settled on GiGi's hard wax because it doesnt adhere to skin and fewer materials are required. The wax heats up relatively quick (30-40 min) and boy does it work! I almost feel like a professional (almost). My only issue is that I'm right handed and had a really hard time working the left side of my body. It hurt some mostly because I didnt apply properly but it was still worth it. Takes the hair right off! I was happy with the results! Stretch, lay some towels down and be sure to research how to apply and remove. Even then there will be a learning curve. Don't let the wax completely harden on you and don't be afraid to use thick layers. There is plenty of wax. Good luck!

Love love love

Absolutely love my wax kit my husband got me for my birthday! Only issue was the dvd was missing so I wasn’t quite sure how to use it but after a YouTube video and asking my sister who does waxing I was able to get the hang of it!

Great Buy for a Great Price...

I picked this kit after thoroughly researching my options and going over reviews. Initially, I made the mistake of trying to wax my legs with it - NOT THE BEST IDEA. This wax is thicker and stickier - so harder to cover larger areas with it. I am planning on using the soft wax for my arms and legs. I use this hard wax for mine and my daughter's face, underarms, and bikini areas. - Using the Pre Oil (just a tad bit) is very helpful in keeping the stickiness controlled. Please be careful as to not use too much - so that the wax can take to the skin. - The Post Oil is not really worth it (does not take away the residue properly). We use coconut oil and that gets rid of every little sticky residue. - The wax has a pleasant odor. - The sticks are of fantastic quality. Using the different sized sticks for various parts, is very useful and efficient. - Please use the collar (very handy). I use 1 collar per jar (had to order more collars pretty much right away)... Overall, I have noticed that I break out less now - by doing my own waxing at home with this kit, rather than when I went in to a salon to get my waxing done. The wax definitely is good and high quality. The refill jars are very reasonable. And I go through one 14 oz jar (between me and my daughter), in about 2 month's time.

Works great for a Brazilian but not so good for anything else

I’m a male and I’ve been getting a Brazilian wax for several months now professionally. Since the wax salons are closed now due to Covid-19 I decided to try it myself at home. It comes with an instructional dvd which is explicit (it does show a vagina) so make sure you’re kids aren’t around when you’re watching it. If you’ve never had a Brazilian wax professionally before I wouldn’t recommend trying it yourself for your first time. At the salon it takes less than 30 min. but for me trying the first time it took about an hour. The wax is a little thick and doesn’t spread the easiest but once you get the hang of it, it’s not too bad. I got fantastic results and it was just as good as going to the waxing salon. This will definitely save some money as it costs $78 (+ gratuity) at the salon. I tried using it on my legs but it’s just not meant for that. It wasn’t working out very well so I just stopped. The wax is intended for coarser hair as found in the public area. My leg hair is a lot finer and I think the soft wax and strips they use at the salon are a lot better. I’m still giving this a 5 star review because based on what it is intended for (the wax it comes with) does an excellent job and it was hardly painful at all.

Perfect Wax Warmer

Well packaged all items were delivered in perfect condition. No damage to the cover I was worried because of all the bad reviews. The adjustable setting is perfect. It did take a little longer for the whole can of wax to completely melt. Easy to use after seeing some online tutorials before I begin. I used my own oil because they stated the wax is super sticky the oil will help to remove the wax from the skin. It was very helpful to have the oil the wax does get very sticky. I also used baby powder to absorb any remaining wetness after cleaning my underarms. It was easy to use. Now I do understand all the bad reviews but you have to practice this was my first time it wasn’t perfect. I know practice makes perfect and will place more wax in the areas. I Love the product the wax warmer is perfect.

Guys! Follow these tips and you'll be very satisfied! :) Good luck!

I was a skeptic about trying to do this type of waxing on my own, but after reading all the amazing comments and tips I gave it a try. This stuff works amazing and is NOT too painful at all. Make sure the hair is trimmed, the area is clean, and use the oil in the areas you will be waxing, or you'll be sorry! Start with the heat on high for about 30 minutes, and then set it to Low. The wax should be gooey but not totally liquid. A thicker consistency than, say, honey. Get a mirror between your legs, and do 2" sections at a time. I started from the top area, and then outwards - inwards. Wait until it feels like if you pull it, it won't stretch like gum. Flick a corner up to grab onto and hold the skin taut. Pull away! The oil prevents skin from being pulled along with is (causing the pain!) I redid a few spots a couple of times and didn't have any issues we rewaxing the same area. REMINDER: DO NOT USE IT IN A VERY HOT LIQUID FORM. I had it on high heat the second time around, and the wax simply did not work! It was also really hot. You do not want it watery! Good luck ladies!

Wow

I was very very hesitant to order this as, well..... I'd be so nervous to wax there... by myself! But for 1/3-1/2 the cost of a SINGLE professional wax, I've found this to be a VERY good investment! Definitely watch the included DVD first - yes, it shows very "private" parts, but very helpful considering you'll be doing that to yourself. Also, I would not skimp on the wooden sticks - maybe even buy extra ones of the thick kind since you really don't want to double-dip - (germs in warm temp, no thanks!) Make sure you're in an area where you can easily clean up dripped wax, even lining the area with newspapers or something else disposable as wax does not "wash" off. Very happy with this purchase! Did NOT rip my skin as I feared - just follow the directions :)

Absolutely love it! I was very nervous about waxing myself ...

Absolutely love it! I was very nervous about waxing myself but this system is great. It comes with an instructional DVD, easy to use wax warmer, 14 oz hard wax jar, pre-wax oil, post wax gel, and applicator sticks. I have used the system only once but I received amazing results. I expect things to get even better once I get the hang of how to handle the wax. The oil comes in handy as a base, the wax is very delicate on the skin, and the cooling gel calms the skin after the process is complete. Definitely worth the buy. This system paid for itself in the first use. I'm not sure how many wax sessions I can get from one jar of wax or how long this wax period will last, but if possible, I will come back with more feedback on those topics.
